Payout Terms

Version 0.1

Draft. This document is not yet in effect, and highlighted items are still to be filled in.

1. Your balance

Your Adki balance is kept in US dollars. Each survey completion a partner confirms adds a credit to it.

How a credit is worked out. You receive 60% of what the survey partner pays Adki for the completion, rounded down to the whole cent. Adki keeps the rest.

The amount shown before you start a survey is worked out the same way from the price the partner offers. The credit uses the amount the partner actually reports, so it can differ.

Banner ads do not add to your balance.

2. Pending and available money

Each credit is held for 30 days. While it is held, it shows as pending. After 30 days it becomes available. Your wallet shows when each pending credit becomes available.

The hold exists because survey partners can review a completion after it happens and reverse it.

3. Reversals

A survey partner may reverse a completion, for example if its quality checks reject your answers. When that happens, we remove the credit from your balance.

If you have already cashed out that money, your balance can go below zero. Future credits pay off a negative balance first. If money was obtained by breaking our Terms of Service, we may ask you to repay it.

4. Cashing out

You can cash out once at least $5 is available. Payouts are sent through our payout provider, Tremendous, to PayPal, Venmo or a gift card. The methods you can choose depend on your country.

Before your first cash-out you need:

  • a verified email address;
  • a complete profile, and acceptance of these Payout Terms.

The amount leaves your balance when you ask to cash out. If the payout fails, the amount returns to your balance.

5. Reviews and holds

A person reviews each account's first cash-out before it is sent. Later cash-outs may also be paused for review if our checks flag unusual activity. We will tell you the outcome.

6. Taxes

You are responsible for any tax on what you earn. If you live in the US, we will ask for a W-9 form before your total payouts in a calendar year reach [[IRS reporting threshold]], and we may send you a tax form for the year. If you live in Canada or the United Kingdom, you are responsible for reporting your earnings.

7. Closing your account

If you close your account with at least $5 available, you can cash it out first. Pending credits become available on their normal dates.

8. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you before the change takes effect. Credits earned before a change follow the terms in force when they were earned.
